Debashis Sinha’s research and creative practice has resulted in projects in performing and media arts across Canada and internationally. He is a winner of multiple awards and nominations for his work, including being named a 2024 finalist for the Siminovitch Prize, Canada’s largest prize for excellence in the theatre arts. His current research stream interrogates machine learning and sound with an ear to uncovering new modes and methods of cultural transmission. Sinha’s sound explorations have taken him to MUTEK.JP/MX, ISEA, NeurIPS, Madrid Abierto, Akademie der Künste, Poesiefestival, and elsewhere. He is an assistant professor at Toronto Metropolitan University.
