Emma Jackson is an urban sociologist working on practices of place, urban multiculture, class, belonging and the city. She is a Visiting Senior Research Fellow at the LSE and an editor at the Sociological Review. She was formerly a Reader in Sociology and the Director of the Centre for Urban and Community Research at Goldsmiths, University of London where she worked from 2015-2024. She is currently working on Walking: A Sociologists Field Guide (Manchester University Press) with Charlotte Bates.
