Jan Berg, PhD and associate professor at Luleå University of Technology, has a professional background as an audio engineer, both in broadcasting and music recording. A significant part of his research encompasses cross-disciplinary projects involving art and technology, in several cases through collaboration between academia and industry. Examples of Jan Berg’s previous work are found in codec testing, loudness and development of listening tests, especially assessment of spatial quality in multichannel systems. More recent contributions are artistic projects utilizing spatial audio and a variety of transducers in different environments, as well as studies aimed at the influence of room acoustics and in-ear monitor systems on musical performance.
