Joshua Bergamin is a philosopher at the University of Vienna and co-PI of the »(Musical) Improvisation and Ethics« project. His scholarly work has been guided by the question: (How) can we think without language?, leading to explorations on such diverse topics as skill acquisition, psychological disorders, animal cognition, and of course, improvisation. Born in Australia, he began his education there before reading for PhD at Durham University. In between (and alongside) his various degrees he has worked as a musician and performance artist, among other things.
