Louise K Wilson is a visual artist who has exhibited widely in North America and Europe. Her published writing includes an interview with Paul Virilio (CTHEORY, 1994); a commissioned essay for »Private Views: Artists Working Today« (Serpents Tail, 2004); book chapters include »A Fearsome Heritage: Diverse Legacies of the Cold War« (Left Coast Press, 2007); »Contemporary Archaeologies: Excavating Now« (Peter Lang, 2009), »In the Ruins of the Cold War Bunker: Affect, Materiality and Meaning Making« (Rowman & Littlefield International, 2017) and »The Oxford Handbook of Sound Art« (OUP 2021). Her journal articles include »(Mythologies of) Diving, flying and in-between« published in Studies in Theatre and Performance (publisher Taylor and Francis) Volume 38, 2018 – Issue 3: The Alternative Document, »Sounds from the Bunker: aural culture and the remainder of the Cold War« in the Journal of War and Culture Studies, volume 13, issue 1 2020 and »Above and Below: The sounding of haunted geologies« forthcoming 2024 in MIRAJ (Moving Image review & Art Journal).She lectures in Art and Design in the School of Design at the University of Leeds and lives in West Yorkshire.
