Macon Holt

Macon Holt is a British sound scholar and cultural theorist. He completed his PhD at the Centre for Cultural Studies, Goldsmiths, University of London, in 2017, and is currently a postdoctoral researcher in operative fictions at Copenhagen Business School, Denmark. His writing has appeared in key sound studies publications such as Bloomsbury Handbook of the Anthropology of Sound and Bloomsbury Handbook of Sound Art, and his first book, Pop Music and Hip Ennui: A Sonic Fiction of Capitalist Realism was published by Bloomsbury Academic in 2019. Macon is a contributing editor at the music magazine Passive/Aggressive, and the host of the podcast Passive Aggressive Conversations on The Lake Radio.
