Nils Bubandt

Nils Bubandt is Professor of Anthropology at Aarhus University and co-editor-in-chief of the journal Ethnos. He has conducted fieldwork in Indonesia since 1991. He is a researcher in the research project Java-futurism. Chronotopes of Sonic Activism in Indonesia (https://javafuturism.blogg.lu.se), which studies experimental electronic music in Indonesia and beyond, and PI of Aesthetics of Extinction. The Asian Songbird Crisis Revisited (https://cas.au.dk/en/extinction) which investigates the complex relationship between aesthetic appreciation and species extinction through the double lens of multispecies anthropology and aesthetic theory.
