Signe Louise Yndigegn is Associate Professor at the IT University of Copenhagen. Her research is placed in the intersection of Ethnography, Participatory Design - and Science and Technology Studies with a particular interest in Welfare Technology, Smart Homes, and Public Digitalization. She focuses on design and use of digital technology in different constellations of older people, public institutions, and care technologies with an emphasis on the ethical and social consequences. Lately, with a specific interest in the use and experience of digital voice assistants among older people in private homes. Signe has extensive experience in working with welfare technologies and public services in collaborative design processes between citizens, researchers, public- and private partners. Signe is head of the research group Welfare Technology: Policy – People – Practices – and she leads the bachelor’s program Digital Design and Interactive Technologies.
