Lucy Cathcart Frödén is Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Oslo. Her practice-based PhD at the University of Glasgow explored how creative collaboration in music and sound can foster solidarity in communities affected by hostile systems. Her publications span sociology, criminology, artistic research, sound studies and political science, and her first co-edited collection (with Kate Herrity and Áine Mangaoang) is Sound and Detention: Towards critical listening, sonic citizenship, and social justice (2026). Her audio productions have been featured on Radiophrenia (UK), Resonance FM (UK), PARSE Journal (SV), Radio Nova (NO), Cities and Memory (UK) and Audio Flux (US).
