Håkan Jonsson is a field recordist and trained oboist in Berlin with a Ph.D. in Computer Science. In performances and installations as Hugsten (with Annsofie Jonsson), Håkan uses field recordings, objects and self-built instruments. His field recording practice focuses on giving voice to entities that have none, e.g. hospital patients, trees, marine species, the dead, and rural craftspeople. He attended the diploma course Practice-based Sound Studies for Installation and Performance at Berlin School of Sound in 2022. His latest work (with Annsofie Jonsson) is Unravelling the threads, commissioned by Helmholtz Institute for Functional Marine Biodiversity
