Risto Holopainen is a Swedish composer living in Oslo. His artistic output spans instrumental and electroacoustic works, radiophonic plays, music for dance, videos and computer animations. In 2012 he defended his PhD thesis Self-organised Sound with Autonomous Instruments: Aesthetics and experiments. The CD Garbage Collection including some of his electroacoustic pieces was released on Mere Records in 2008 and was awarded the Spellemann prize.
