She is a PhD candidate in Hispanic Literary and Cultural Studies at the University of Illinois Chicago. Her dissertation examines contemporary Latin American novels through the figure of the walker, with particular attention to the relationship among space, body, and affect. Her research brings together literary studies, sound studies, cultural geography, and phenomenology. She works on contemporary Latin American fiction, especially narratives of precarity, urban exclusion, and embodied walking.
