Carl Holmgren is a PhD student in Music Education at Piteå School of Music, Luleå University of Technology. He holds Master’s degrees in music and education from the same university. Besides being a skilled teacher of piano, he also has extensive experience of playing for ballet classes. He has published in European and Nordic journals and presented at Swedish, Nordic, and international conferences. His research interests centre on the teaching and learning of musical interpretation in higher education, hermeneutics, languages, translation, and poetry. He currently lectures intermittently at second-cycle degree programmes.
