Dr Jussi Parikka is an Aarhus based scholar, writer, and curator. He works as Professor in Digital Aesthetics and Culture, Aarhus University, Denmark, while also holding positions as Visiting Professor, Academy of Performing Arts (AMU), Prague, and as Visiting Professor, Winchester School of Art (University of Southampton). Jussi has authored several books, including Insect Media: An Archaeology of Animals and Technology (2010), What is Media Archaeology? (2012), A Geology of Media (2015), The Lab Book (2022, with Lori Emerson and Darren Wershler), and Operational Images: From the Visual to the Invisual (2023). He is also the co-editor of Photography Off the Scale (2021, with Tomáš Dvořák). His books have been translated into 11 languages including Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Czech, Italian, French, Spanish and Portuguese.
