Swedish violinist Karin Hellqvist is performing internationally as an interpreter of contemporary music. Through collaboration and dialogue, her work contributes to the process of creating new music. Hellqvist is a member of several forefront ensembles for experimental music in Scandinavia. She has contributed to award-winning recordings, as her debut CD Flock, awarded with Preis der Deutschen Shallplattenkritik. Educated in Stockholm, Berlin, Oslo and at the Royal College of Music in London, she is currently an artistic PhD research fellow at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo researching collaborative aspects of new music creation and the role of the performer.
