Kate Donovan is a radio artist/practitioner, facilitator and researcher based in Berlin. With questions of science-fact, the imagined, and ‘ecology’ in mind, her academic research and artistic practice is an exploration of radio as a natural phenomenon, an artistic medium, and a site for resistance. She studied Fine Art: Time Based Media (BA hons) at the Hull School of Art, UK; Anglophone Modernities in Literature and Culture (MA) at the University of Potsdam; and is currently a PhD student within the Research Group “SENSING: the knowledge of sensitive media” at ZeM (Brandenburg Centre for Media Studies), with a project on Expanded Listening and Radio Art. She is part of the community radio group CoLaboRadio, and on the Datscha Radio Berlin team.
