Field recordings from explorations of Hong Kong.
Abstract
This audio file is part of a collection of promenadological field recordings from Hong Kong. Those recordings serve as sound data and raw material for further study and artistic explorations of acoustic spaces of the dense megalopolis of Hong Kong. Most recordings are made with binaural in-ear microphones (Soundman OKM II Classic) connected to a portable recording device (Zoom H4). The research is designed around a strolling approach to urban exploration. Thus most recordings are done while walking, as well as in other forms of motion (elevators, escalators, public transport).
